Nittany Theatre at the Barn seeks to employ a variety of  individuals who are driven and dedicated to prepare, develop, produce, rehearse, stage, costume, and build the very best theatrical experiences possible. While Nittany Theatre presents its season with a number of very dedicated group of all-volunteers, some specialized positions are salaried.

For 2018, Nittany Theatre at the Barn will operate on the Small Professional Theater (SPT) contract under Actors Equity Association  rules. We pay SPT union scale to AEA actors and offer set salaries to non-Equity actors. While we prefer to cast LOCAL actors for the season, we do offer per-diem for select out-of-town actors.

Local auditions are typically held in the early spring at the Barn, Penn State University, or other (TBA). Announcement on 2018 auditions (AEA and non-Equity) will be made in January 2018.

For staff, we also have a limited number of wage payroll positions that (depending on experience) pay between $7.25 and $10 per hour.

EBS Theatre Internships

Nittany Theatre at the Barn has established a working partnership with the School of Theatre at Penn State University. We have a limited number of paid and unpaid internships available for directors, technical staff, box office staff, and actors. In addition to our paid EBS Theatre Internships, students are eligible to receive college credits for on stage and off-stage work.
